Props

I aim to use some props in my pictures such as a microphone, earphones and bags. This is to represent the pop and alternative genre of my magazine as they are stereotypically used in existing pop and alternative magazines and they can also be fashionable that will target my female audience.

Background

The background for my photo-shoots will be a studio where I will have access to professional equipments. This will make my images look more professional and clean where I can use different lighting techniques and try out different background colours. However, for my magazine, I aim to use the white background as it is easily contrasted with the other colours I will be using for my magazine and it also reflects my genre.I aim to use this for all of my images to create synergy throughout my magazine and to make it look more sophisticated and higher class.

Costume

The costume I have chosen for my model are simple, plain, casual outfits. This is so it will target my audience and represent my magazine genre as well as the artist. I do not want my model to be wearing dresses as I do not want her to look sexy or my target audience to get the wrong idea of her just being a pop artist. However, I have also ensured that my model does not look under-dressed as I aim to represent the pop and alternative genre and to reflect my artists personality.

Make-up and Accessories

The make-up on my model will be simple and basic to follow the genre of my magazine as being pop and alternative. The lipstick will be a natural pink colour, making it look nourished, smooth and giving that dual combination of glam and natural looking appeal to represent femininity.

The accessories  I will be using includes necklaces, bracelets and watches. This gives my model a feminine look, making her fashionable and well presented.

Body Language and Posture

I have chosen different postures for my model to express her personality and mood and way the image is being portrayed. I aim to have the front cover image the most appealing and eye-catching photo to my target audience with an elegant posture as that is what they will see first and it determines whether they buy the magazine or not. By doing this, my model will have a serious face with a direct mode of address, but not to the point where my audience would feel uncomfortable. I also aim to use different facial expressions and cinematography to show sophistication and bring different moods to the magazine.
